THAT MATTER
Maximum trailer weight is only one part of the towing equation.
GAWR
Gross Axle Weight Rating. The maximum allowable weight supported by an individual axle and its associated components.
GCWR
Gross Combined Weight Rating. The maximum combined weight of the truck and trailer for a specified configuration.
AXLE RATIO
Axle ratio affects gearing and towing performance, but the factory towing rating still depends on the complete vehicle configuration.
PAYLOAD
Payload includes people, cargo and trailer tongue or kingpin weight. A high trailer rating does not mean every truck can safely carry that trailer at maximum weight.
SRW VS DRW
Single-rear-wheel and dual-rear-wheel configurations can have substantially different payload and towing capabilities, especially on Silverado 3500 HD.
